New Pendant Work

Purple Crazy Lace Agate Pendant

Well it has been an extremely busy weekend. The kids can't hardly keep up with all their homework. And of course, I have been putting mine off. So I have told myself that this week I have to hit it hard. I had to take my daughter and her friend to UIS for a Hadron Collider Lecture so they could get extra credit. WOW was that the most boring time to be had. There is no way that a bunch of 13 & 14 year old kids would have the slightest clue what they were talking about. And they aren't even discussing this in her class.

Since my daughter spent most of the weekend on her homework, I decided I should try to do the wire work on the pendant she picked out at the bead show a month ago. It took me over 2 hours just to do the pendant. I have been told that it will get easier the more I do. I can't wait for that to happen! This is a dyed crazy lace agate pendant. it is large at 2" long. I used purple wire and non-tarnish silver wire. We were so excited about how well it turned out! She says she is going to wear it to school tomorrow.

New Jewelry Piece in Progress

Please Comment on this piece in progress.

So I am slowly learning the art of Wire Work. I am currently working on my second piece. It seems to be taking forever since I don't seem to have the proper tools to expedite the process. My Dad game me a vise and a small saw this weekend to use to cut jump rings. But I need to get some small dowel rods that are the correct size for the rings. Let me know what you think.

These gemstones are goldstone. They are a rich brown color with little flecks of gold throughout the stone. The wire is copper.

New Gemstone Necklace

NEW Gemstone & Wire Jewelry

I have been wanting to do some pieces with wire for some time now. Some new friends have inspired me to get started. I am so excited with how well it came out. I have new pieces in the works and am learning some new techniques.

Here is my first Gemstone necklace with wire work. The entire piece is handcrafted by me. Each link in the chain is created using copper wire. The gemstones are Aventurine & Autumn Jasper. The necklace measures 19". This item is available for purchase in my Ebay store "Karen's Artistic Touches".

I have many Halloween pieces available.
